Files never leave this browser tab
A PDF splitter with nothing to upload

Split your PDF into exactly the pages you need.

Drop a file in below. This tool cuts it apart inside your browser — by range, by count, page by page or by pages you pick — with no server, no account and no upload bar for a document that's none of anyone's business.

Drop a PDF here

or choose a file from your device

Each range becomes its own PDF. Use 8- for page 8 to the end, or last for the final page.

Every page is saved as its own PDF, and you can download them all in one ZIP.

    How it works

    01

    Drop your PDF

It opens directly in the page using your browser's own PDF engine, and a preview of every page appears — no network request involved.

    02

    Choose how to cut it

Type page ranges, split every N pages, tick the pages you want, or separate every page. The preview shows exactly what you'll get before you click.

    03

    Download the pieces

Save each PDF on its own or grab everything as one ZIP. Pages are copied across untouched, so quality never changes.

    Why split locally

    Nothing to intercept

Bank statements, ID scans, contracts and medical records stay on your machine instead of passing through a third party's server.

    Pages are copied, not redrawn

Splitting moves the original page data into new files, so text stays selectable, images stay sharp and page sizes never change.

No queues, no caps, no watermark

Processing happens in your browser's memory, so it isn't rationed by an upload limit, a daily quota or a paywall.

    Works without a connection

Once this page is loaded, splitting a file doesn't need the network again.

    Questions, answered

Everything people ask before splitting a PDF.

Is this Split PDF tool really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark, no daily limit and no paid tier. Because the splitting happens inside your own browser, it costs nothing to run, so nothing has to be rationed.

Are my PDF files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your file is read and split on your own device using your browser's memory. It never travels to a server, so contracts, ID scans and financial documents stay private.

How do I split a PDF by page range?

Choose Custom ranges and type pages like 1-3, 5, 8-10. Each range becomes its own PDF. Use 8- for page 8 to the end, or the word last for the final page.

What's the difference between Custom ranges and Extract pages?

Custom ranges creates one file per range. Extract pages gathers every page you tick into a single new PDF, which is ideal for pulling a handful of pages out of a long document.

Will splitting reduce quality or change my text?

No. Pages are copied as they are, not redrawn. Text stays sharp and selectable, images keep their original quality and the page size stays exactly the same. Bookmarks and in-document links that point to pages in another file can't carry across.

Why do the split files add up to more than the original?

Pages share resources such as fonts and logos. When a page moves into its own file, those resources go with it, so each part carries its own copy. The total can be larger than the original even though nothing was lost.

    Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. Encrypted PDFs have to be unlocked first. Open the file in your PDF viewer with its password, save or print a copy without the password, then split that copy here.

Is there a file size or page limit?

We set none. The practical limit is your device's memory: most phones and laptops handle files up to a few hundred megabytes, and very large files simply take longer.

Can I reorder pages while splitting?

Yes. In Custom ranges, tick Combine all ranges into one PDF and type the pages in the order you want, for example 5, 1-3. The pages are assembled in the order you typed them.

Does it work on a phone, and does it work offline?

It works in any modern mobile or desktop browser. Once the page has loaded, splitting needs no further network access.
