YVGPSCam stamps every photo with where and when it was taken. It reads your device’s location and time, and keeps your photos in this browser.
Photos always stay in the Gallery in this app either way. Automatic downloads are not fully reliable on every phone — iPhone in particular often blocks a download that isn’t a direct tap, or saves it to the Files app rather than Photos. Google Drive backup below is the dependable way to get every photo off this device with no per-photo tap.
Previously viewed map tiles are cached automatically so the thumbnail can still draw without a signal.
Higher quality makes larger files. Max uses full resolution where the camera supports it.
Coordinates, date and time always come from this device. The place name and address are text you control.
YVGPSCam runs in your browser. There is no account and no ads.
Photos you take are stamped on your device and kept in this browser's own storage. They are not uploaded anywhere unless you sign in with Google and turn on Drive backup — then a copy is written to a folder named "YVGPSCam" in your own Google Drive, which only this app can see.
Your coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap or BigDataCloud to look up a place name and address, and to Open-Meteo for weather, only while those features are switched on. Map tiles are fetched from OpenStreetMap or Esri. None of these services receive your photos.
The camera and your location are only used to create the photo and its stamp, live on your device. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere beyond what's described above.
Delete a photo in the Gallery to remove it from this browser. If you also back up to Drive, delete it there separately — this app can only reach files it created.
QR codes are read from the camera preview on your device only, when you turn the feature on. Nothing is sent anywhere for this.
