Dashed green boxes are detected 4-digit groups: tap one to mask it, tap a black box to remove it. Tapping elsewhere drops a 4-digit-sized box. Shortcuts: Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y.
Pick Image, PDF or Question mark removal, then drop your file. Locked PDFs ask for the password right here.
Digits are located automatically. Tap a 4-digit group, or drag a box, and undo anything with one tap.
Output is a flat copy: the hidden digits are really gone, and the page is exactly as the original, with no added marks.
No. Reading, masking, verifying and printing all happen in your browser tab. The only network requests are for the page's code libraries (and the text-recognition data the first time you mask an image).
The first 8 digits of the 12-digit Aadhaar number, leaving the last 4 visible, as in UIDAI's own masked Aadhaar. Your QR code is left alone unless you cover it yourself. The VID is not touched; mask it by hand if you need to. The enrolment number (1234/12345/12345) can be hidden in one click with “Mask enrolment no.”
Use “Click to mask 4 digits” and tap a dashed group (or anywhere to drop a 4-digit box), or switch to “Drag to mask” and draw a rectangle. Tap a black box in click mode to remove it. Undo and Redo cover every change.
Enter the first 4 letters of your name in capitals followed by your year of birth, for example RAJE1990 for Rajesh born in 1990. The password is used only in your browser.
Adobe Reader doesn't trust the Indian government's root certificate by default, so it shows “validity unknown” for a perfectly genuine file. Installing the CCA India root certificate in Adobe is the permanent fix.
It checks the PDF's UIDAI digital signature in your browser against the CCA India 2022 certificates. If the file is an unmodified original, it shows and prints the page without the signature marker. Any other PDF — edited, re-saved, scanned or unsigned — is refused with a request to upload the original PDF downloaded from the UIDAI official site, with its password.
No. A clean copy is a flat picture of the page, so it no longer carries UIDAI's digital signature. Use it for viewing or printing, and use your untouched original (button provided) wherever a signature check is needed.
A masked copy is fine where only the last 4 digits are needed, but it is not signed, so it can't be verified electronically. Share it only with parties who accept masked Aadhaar.
It remembers, in this browser only, the size of boxes you usually draw and where you place boxes on layouts it couldn't read automatically, then pre-fills them next time. It is simple pattern memory, not a cloud model, and you can wipe it with “Reset learning”.
Scanned or blurry images can defeat text recognition. Just tap or drag over the digits yourself; the tool will remember that layout for next time.
